IKEA Malm drawers & Besta shelf hack

A couple of photos from an IKEA Malm chest of drawers installation we carried out for a returning customer in Eastbourne.

The Malm installation was modified (or hacked) to incorporate some IKEA Besta shelving which was surplus from a previous job, to be used as shelving for a TV/Freeview box, satellite receiver and to provide more storage space for other items.

We took the existing tap Malm chest, along with the newly assembled Malm 4 + 2 chest of drawers and then measured and pre-drilled holes into each unit to accommodate the Besta shelving (as can be seen in the photos).

It was a great idea by the customer to utilise the shelving in this way and fun to modify the existing IKEA furniture to achieve this – my favourite part of this job, as I like a challenge.
