The 4 door Malibu wardrobe is a relatively simple construction taking approximately an hour and a half to complete.
However, it does require two people as the entire carcass needs to be assembled on the floor before being manoeuvred into it’s upright position. It’s probably possible to do this on your own but you would run the risk of flexing the wardrobe and breaking some fixings and/or dowels, so I highly recommend enlisting the help of a second person at this stage in the build.
The Argos drawers are quick to assemble as the back and sides of the drawers are already connected, requiring only two pins and cams to secure them to the drawer fronts.
The Malibu range is a budget range and this shows in the overall fit an finish of the product. However, at this price point it is acceptable and provides a cost effective and practical storage solution.
Alternative drawers to consider at a similar price but of better quality include the Ikea Malm 4 drawer chest at just £55 (cheaper than the Argos Malibu 6 drawer and with metal drawer runners with wheels instead of the Argos plastic runners and with more storage capacity).
This is just my personal opinion based on many years of assembling these items and is not to be taken as a recommendation or endorsement of any product.
The total assembly time for this job was approximately three hours for 1 wardrobe and 3 chests of drawers.
